Forget those rendered images, here is a 'real' shot of what is said to be the Sony Ericsson Arc HD, formerly known as the Sony Ericsson Nozomi. It looks every bit as stylish 'in the flesh' too.It is still the flagship phone of the forthcoming Sony Ericsson range, but amazingly, Sony Ericsson isn't packing off this smartphone with the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system as expected. Instead, the version of Android is 2.3.5 Gingerbread, although that could well be updated at a later date. We would be very surprised if it wasn't, in truth.Other specifications confirmed for the Arc HD are a 4.3-inch LCD display of HD resolution (1280x720 pixels), along with a 12-megapixel camera with full HD video recording. There's also a Snapdragon chipset, Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB of RAM, a HDMI port and 16GB or 32GB of on-board storage. But no microSD slot to boost it further. No definite word on a launch, although rumours abound that CES in January could be the time of the first official view, well ahead of the previous March launch date. Which is perhaps why the operating system isn't Ice Cream Sandwich just yet. As ever, we'll keep you posted.
