It doesn't come with the latest version of Android initially, but fear not, as Google's Ice Cream Sandwich will be available when the Acer Iconia Tab A200 hits the UK.It's certainly a large slab of tablet goodness – a 10.1-inch device with 1280x800 resolution, powered by a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, along with 1GB RAM. There's also a two-megapixel camera on the front, 8GB or 16GB of storage, a microSD slot and Wi-Fi connectivity. Colours choices are red or black, both with a rubberised back. Not a bad package on the face of it.The images show quite a chunky device, which it is compared to something like an iPad. You are looking at half as thick again, with a depth of 12.4mm. Mind you, if you are buying a 10.1-inch tablet, perhaps portability isn't everything. As for that operating system, the A200 is shipping initially with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but when it lands in the UK, loosely described as early 2012, the latest version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be available. Which should make the A200 quite a contender if the price point is right. No details on that yet, we'll let you know when it is confirmed.
