High-end HTC Zeta rumoured

What's that? Another flagship smartphone from HTC? Looks like it. Not content with teasing us with the HTC Edge last week, which was set to be the company's first quad-core phone, it looks like it could have something even better lined up with the HTC Zeta.

Engadget has the initial details and all-important image, which indicates a phone with even more power than the Edge. Of course, with just a rendered image and a specification, it might not be the real deal. It might even be just a concept. But there's nothing here that couldn't be turned into a commercial smartphone if HTC really wanted to shake up the market.

As for that specification, this is, as we mentioned, a quad-core smartphone, just like the previously-mentioned Edge. Except this one is said to have a much faster 2.5GHz APQ8064 CPU, along with 1GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch 720p HD display and Google Ice Cream Sandwich running alongside what's like to be Sense 4.0 for the interface. Also present will be 32GB of internal storage, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, an eight-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, 1080p video capture and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The whole thing is said to measure 109.8x60.9x9.8mm.

So is it real or is it fake? We should find out in the coming weeks. It sounds right and has the HTC look, so right now, things point towards legitimacy. If we hear anything else to back it up, we'll let you know.
