If you own an Apple device and you haven't had a notification through about it, let is be the first to tell you that iOS 5.0.1 is now available to download. There are actually two downloads of the software, the first of which is a whopping 790MB and available via iTunes. However, if you upgraded to the original iOS 5, you can get what's called the Delta version, which is available to download directly to your device and just offers up the changes. That takes the download to 44.6MB, a far more manageable size, especially if your connection isn't the fastest.Download it and hopefully you will get an answer to those battery problems. That's if you had them in the first place. While some owners have suffered from a dramatic loss of power, a number of iOS 5 users haven't seen anything of the sort. There's obviously a rogue setting out there, hopefully this update will find it and sort it. Aside from that, the update covers the usual security and bug fixes, particularly with document synching. It also re-enables switching gestures on the original iPad and just in case you happen to speak with an Australian accent, iOS 5.0.1 has improved voice recognition for you. Switch on your device or your PC/laptop to get it right now.
