It launched back in September, but since then, we've heard very little about HTC's entry-level Android smartphone, which goes by the name of the HTC Explorer. Until today that is.Not only have we got the pricing of the device, we have a shelf date... which is today! Yes, you can go down to your local Three store and have one in your hand before the day is out. Obviously, that will take a little longer if you buy online, but not much longer. The Explorer is well-priced too, although that price is perhaps indicative of how the features have been scaled back compared to the big boys of the HTC range. But you do get Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) and the latest version of HTC Sense (3.5), so not bad for a budget handset. Saying that, you do lose a bit elsewhere – a 600MHz processor, 512MB RAM and a three-megapixel camera for example, with GPS, Wi-Fi, a 3.2-inch screen, the HTC Friend Stream app (for keeping up with friends' updates) and changeable covers finishing things off.Anyway, how does all that cost? Well, if you are happy with the Three network, you can grab the HTC Explorer from £15 per month or £27 per month on The One Plan with all-you-can-eat data, 2,000 anytime, any network minutes and 5,000 texts. If you want to go pay-as-you-go, the HTC Explorer sells for £129.99.
