It sneaked out back in July, but since then, all has been quiet on the Facebook for iPad front. Until last night that is, with the app finally making its official debut on the Apple App Store. Better late than never, eh?It is what we expected, a larger, more visually impressive version of Facebook on the go, with the app now offered as a joint iPhone/iPad production. A quick word on that - it might cause problems when you upgrade on your iPhone. If that's the case, delete and reinstall the app from scratch, that should sort the problem, according to Facebook. But enough of the iPhone, the big news here is iPad compatibility. Tabbed browsing that allows you to slide between the different sections, much as you do with the Twitter app for example. Photos are bigger and better, now high-res and as easy to flip through as a photo album. Navigation is a matter of a pinch, slide or tap, with the option to zoom into photos or stories. You can also play games on the go, you can share a photo, update your status or send a message without leaving News Feed and you can check out a nearby map to see what your friends are up to. A Facebooker's dream in short. If you have an iPad.It's available now, along with an updated iPhone app, at the App Store. Free, of course.
