Thought the the HTC Rhyme was the last of the company's Androids for this year? Well, you'll be wrong as the HTC Explorer is likely to land in November.A couple of lesser-quality shots have done the rounds in the past, with the name Pico attached to those original images. But Explorer is almost certainly the name settled on by HTC for this low-to-middle-range handset. We're thinking something in Wildfire territory, if you want a specific reference point.Pocket Now got the shots and the initial specification. The latter is said to include a 600MHz processor, 3.2-inch HVGA display, 384MB/512MB RAM/ROM, and a five-megapixel camera. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is the operating system, mixing it with the Sense 3.5 interface. Colour choice will be black or blue, with the body said to be textured rubber, no doubt able to take a bit of rough and tumble. That's not all though. More details on Recombu indicate a release date. Online retailer Clove has confirmed that the Explorer will be on its virtual shelves from November, presumably around the same time as contract deals in the UK. The retailer also claims that the phone will come with a rather neat little add-on - a data control app. Yes, something to keep track on how much 3G data you are hammering. Useful if you have a contract with a minimal allowance.Look out for the official launch very soon.
