It has been on the iPad for some time, perhaps because the larger screen just suits catch-up TV more. But now you can have 4oD in your pocket with the launch of the iPhone app.Just in at the App Store, the new app is free, allowing you to view Channel 4, E4 and More 4 programmes from the last 30 days on your iPhone. You can browse shows on your phone with a 3G connection, but you'll need a Wi-Fi connection to view any of the shows, essentially to guarantee viewing quality. There's even a new feature, with search functionality enabling users to find their favourite programmes by typing in the name of the show in the new search menu. Don't worry iPad owners, if you update, you'll get the same feature too.Helen Walker, 4oD Product Manager, comments: 'We're delighted to bring 4oD to our viewers with iPhones and iPod touches, and to offer our existing iPad users an update to their app, with a new carousel and ability to now browse the app over 3G.'Shame it doesn't include the Channel 4 'classics' that might be coming soon. Tagged onto the end of the app write up, it says: 'Our archive 4oD content (which includes both classic shows and more recent programmes that have dropped out of the 30-day catch up 'window') is not currently available on the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, but we are looking to bring these programmes to you soon.'Here's hoping.
