We had only just spotted it leaked online when Samsung went ahead and announced the tinier Galaxy Tab officially at the IFA conference in Berlin.
The leaks had it pretty much right: Android 3.2 Honeycomb (the version for smaller tablets), dual-core 1.4GHz processor and a longer-lived 5100mA battery. Instead of a Super AMOLED screen however, it's packing the brighter, clearer Super AMOLED Plus display tech as seen in the Samsung Galaxy S II - meaning it's the highest-tech screen on any tablet. iPad 3, beware?
Other specs include a three-megapixel camera and a choice of 8, 16, 32 or 64GB of storage - and it out-skinnies its Tab 10.1 bigger bro at just 7.89mm thin.
Price and release date remains a mystery, but we'll post the details as soon as we have them.
