Motorola Fire lands in September

Touch-screens and QWERTY keyboards are the combination du jour. The Motorola Fire is the latest to hop on the touch'n'type bandwagon with a full QWERTY sitting pretty beneath a 2.8-inch touch display.

First announced back in July, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread is a mid-range smartphone skinned with Moto's Switch UI, whose main USP is that you can switch to 'friend-centric' home screens when you're off work and being social.

The Fire is now confirmed to be available in the UK at the end of September. If the thought of a 'budget-friendly' Gingerbread phone with a three-megapixel camera, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS, plus a decent-sounding battery life turns you on, keep an eye for further network details.
