Not exactly a huge fanfare, but after waiting something like seven months to see it, we're not complaining about the HP Pre 3 finally hitting the UK.Yes, after much speculation, the SIM-free version is now available to buy, with an asking price of £299 for the latest webOS smartphone at the HP online store. It ships in 1-2 days, so if you invest, you could be playing with it by the weekend. Still no word from the networks though. A support page from Orange was accidentally leaked earlier in the week, but a lack of confirmation from the network hints that it isn't going overboard with the promotion. If you want a contract model, we would recommend you contact Orange directly.Nothing has changed spec-wise in the last couple of days, with the HP Pre 3 still packing a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and the latest webOS 2.2 operating system, along with a 3.6-inch 800x480 WVGA display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a five-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash and the option to shoot 720p HD video plus a front-facing camera for video calling. There's also 512MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and A-GPS.If that combines to make the smartphone of your dreams, go get it now. Or risk waiting for your network of choice to conjure one up.
