We reviewed the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc smartphone back in March, giving it a very healthy rating and not noticing anything particularly poor about its multimedia functions. Nonetheless, that's exactly what's just been upgraded by Sony Ericsson.According to Android Central, the upgrade is now rolling out, at least to some owners. Initially, the upgrade was down as Arc only, but seems to be heading to the Play smartphone too. If you have either handset, give settings / about phone / software update a try and all being well, it will be there. If not, keep trying, it will be soon.If it is there, you'll get xLoud, which boosts your music when played through the speaker, along with stereo recording, allowing you to shoot video with high-quality stereo sound. Also in the upgrade is digital home, essentially allowing you to stream your media to DLNA-certified devices. On top of that, there are also new themes and a landscape mode for your home screen. Not bad for free. The upgrade is also expected to come pre-installed on the soon to be released Xperia Ray, which is due out in Europe very soon.
