Virgin Media has announced a deal with Spotify to offer the music streaming service across its TV, mobile and broadband platforms.
Whichever service you choose – or currently use – you'll be able to add in Spotify at a reduced price and pay it via your monthly Virgin bill.
New and exisiting Virgin customers can get Spotify Unlimited for all-you-can-eat access to Spotify's 13 million track library ad-free on PC, or Spotify Premium, which adds a feature for mobile phone use.
They will also get exclusive features and content likely built from Virgin's long track record of working with the music industry.
Subscribers to Virgin Media TV can use a special app developed by Spotify and Virgin to stream music via TV. Network Three was the first to bundle Spotify at a reduced rate, but Virgin's deal to let you play Spotify on your TV is significant as it places the service at the centre of home entertainment – in addition to its current place in computer and mobile use.
The service will launch in the next few months, with existing customers getting first dibs on signing up. If you already use Spotify, whether on Virgin or not, you can keep your account and still take advantage of the lower monthly rates and special promos.
