Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray lands in August

Just over a week ago, we highlighted two new Sony Ericsson Xperia phones, the Xperia Ray and the Xperia Active. Well, the first of those two Android handsets now has an approximate shefl date - August.

Seeing as we're in the first day of July, that's not long to wait. According to Crave, the Ray is listed over at Carphone Warehouse for that August launch, with Three named as the network behind it, although it doesn't look to be an exclusive. So if Three isn't your thing, sit tight. No pricing as yet, but if you want to know more, there's a pre-order page to express an interest in the handset.

If you missed it first time around, the Xperia Ray is a slim fashion phone, perfect for slipping into the pocket of your skinny jeans at a late summer festival. Not just a pretty face though, this is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone offering up a 3.3-inch Reality dsplay, an 8.1-megapixel camera with Exmor R light sensor and high definition video recording, a 1GHz processor, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity and some deep Facebook integration.

It's likely to be a mid-price offering, but for exact numbers, sign up with Carphone Warehouse, which will give you the lowdown as soon as it is confirmed.
