Carphone Warehouse gets LG Optimus 3D exclusive

With incoming competition from the HTC Evo 3D, the LG Optimus 3D really does need to hit the UK soon. And do you know what? It is doing just that, as soon as this Friday in fact.

The official launch date is 7 July, with Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy offering it as an exclusive in the UK. If you want one, it's available on a £35 per month deal. Want it sooner? Well, you can have that too. According to the What Mobile site, selected stores will have it a week early, which is 1 July or if you like, tomorrow.

Those stores are Carphone Warehouse Sheffield (Meadowhall), Manchester (Arndale Centre), Leeds (White Rose SC), Manchester (Trafford Centre Unit 28), Glasgow (Unit 41 Braehead), Glasgow (Silverburn SC), Birmingham (146 New Street), Cardiff (St Davids SC), Oxford, Milton Keynes, Luton (U77-79 Arndale Centre), Oxford Street (272-274), Oxford St (Centre Point), Thurrock (Lakeside 244), Croydon (124 Whitgift Ctr), Brighton (Churchill Sq), Southampton (Above Bar), High Wycombe (Eden SC), White City (Westfield SC) and Ealing (Broadway). You'll also find it at Best Buy Hayes, Bristol, Nottingham and Rotherham.

Do check out our review before you buy. If you haven't got time, there were concerns about battery life, although 3D is said to be impressive. In terms of features, the Optimus 3D offers Android 2.2 (upgradeable to Android 2.3), a dual-core processor, dual-memory (combining for superfast browsing), a five-megapixel dual-lens camera and with the world's first full 3D camera plus a 4.3-inch 3D WVGA display, you can even capture and record images and videos in 3D, with the option to upload to YouTube or connect to a 3D television, as well as viewing 3D without the glasses.

If that appeals, you know where to go.
