Quick off the back of unveiling two new Xperia Android handsets, Sony Ericsson has showcased yet another smartphone, this time aimed at the heavy messenger and social networker. Sporting a full physical QWERTY keyboard, the Sony Ericsson txt has a dedicated SMS shortcut key, while the 'friends' application allows you to pick your five favourite friends and view their Facebook and Twitter updates in one feed.
In terms of specs, it's far more low-end than the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray or Xperia Active – it doesn't run on Android for starters. What it does have though is Wi-Fi, a 3.2-megapixel camera and TrackID that will help you identify the artist and title of that elusive song that's playing on the radio.
Arriving in Q3 of this year, there's no news on pricing yet, but looking at the feature set and the target audience (the youthful social networking contingent) we'd anticipate a competitive price point.
