Vodafone has an exclusive on the contract version, that we already know. But what if you don't want to be tied to a Vodafone contract for the next 18 months? Well, you could wait for the other networks to offer one, which should be around a month or so later - or you could go down the SIM-free route. It still might mean a wait though.Vodafone does indeed have an exclusive and so far, none of the usual SIM-free suspects have come forward with a price, but Play.com has now come forward with its own offer. According to TechRadar, the price of a SIM-free Sensation is £499.99, with 30 June being the provisional date of shipping. Not quite as soon as the Vodafone model (19 May if you missed it), but not too long after to wait. Interestingly, Clove has said it will ship stock even sooner, but despite saying it expects stock from 10 June, the company has yet to confirm a price. Which doesn't exactly fill us with confidence. But keep an eye on both retailers if you want to go SIM-free. The Sensation certainly looks like a phone to have, with Android 2.3.3, HTC Sense 3.0, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 768MB of RAM, an eight-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording and a 4.2-inch SLCD screen with a qHD display.
