Channel 4 has joined forces with application agency Nice and online platform providers Ooyala to enable consumers to watch shows such as Skins, Peep Show and The Inbetweeners on their iPad. The 4oD app works without the need of flash - an omission that Apple has been largely criticised for in the past - meaning you'll be able to catch up with all your favourite programs on the go. As part of a sponsorship deal with Heineken, the 4oD app is free from iTunes and the Apple App Store for the next three months, when a fee will then be attached to the app.
Since its launch on 28 April this year, Channel 4's 4oD app for the iPad has remained in top spot for free iPad apps in the Apple App Store. Channel 4 has said there are plans to expand the content available through the app as well as making the application available on the iPhone.
