Was it really as long ago as January when the Dell Streak 7 launched? It was indeed, but only now has the device hit the UK, with a SIM-free version now on sale for £299.So what's changed in that time? Not a lot in truth, with the Dell Streak 7 still being the big brother of the original Dell Streak, more of a 'proper' tablet than the smaller sibling, which leaned more towards being a smartphone because of that size. Anyway, you can secure it directly from Dell for that £299 price tag if it appeals, and as far as we know, nowhere else. Certainly not on contract, with no operators as yet declaring an interest in selling it for a monthly fee. That price is certainly on its side, although features don't quite match up to the imminent HTC Flyer, likely to be the one to beat when it comes to seven-inch tablets. However, it's not bad either, packing a seven-inch multi-touch capable display with 800x400 resolution, along with a five-megapixel rear camera plus a 1.3-megapixel camera for networking, topped off with a an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a (rather disappointing) Android 2.2 OS and 16GB of storage. At £299, it's certainly worth considering if you are in the market for an Android tablet, but with such a fast-moving market, you probably want to consider all the competition first before committing the cash.
