We did expect it to ship in mid-April, but as that's pretty much now and there was little pre-order activity, a delay seemed inevitable. Thankfully, it's not much of a delay.According to TechRadar, HTC's Florient Seiche has confirmed that the Android tablet will be here in a matter of weeks, landing on 9th May if you want the precise date. The Carphone Warehouse will have it, selling for £599.99, which is roughly the price previously quoted by retailer Clove. Sadly, that delay hasn't allowed HTC to bump up the operating system from Android 2.3 to Android 3.0, but an update should come through soon enough. The £600 device is for the Wi-Fi/3G version of the Flyer – a cheaper Wi-Fi only model should follow sometime later this year. It's certainly not taking on the iPad 2 for price, so it's probably down to whether you want an Android or an iOS-variation of a tablet. If you do, the Flyer has a seven-inch screen, the option to use as a digital notebook with a stylus, a video download service called HTC Watch and streaming from your tablet to PC wirelessly. In terms of hardware, the Flyer packs a 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, up to 32GB of storage, a five-megapixel camera for snaps, a 1.3-megapixel camera for video calling and all the connectivity you would expect of a modern-day mobile device. If that appeals, go see Carphone Warehouse to get your name on the list. Alternatively, sit tight if you want a contract deal – no mention of any of those as yet.
