Good news if you've been chasing a HTC Desire S smartphone – it's now available via most of the UK's networks. If you missed it, the Desire S picked up a four-star review from us at the start of this month, described as 'a solid Android smartphone' that's likely to be loved by HTC fans. But due to its mid-range specification, the Desire S might not be the futureproof phone you desire. If you pardon the pun. But on the plus side, it's not the most expensive smartphone either, so a fairly affordable way of grabbing Android Gingerbread. Not as affordable as getting an upgrade for your existing phone, but that depends on which phone you currently have in your pocket.Anyway, it looks like the cheapest deal of the three listed is at Vodafone, where you can secure the phone for 'free' on a £30 per month contract. That give you 600 minutes, unlimited text messages and 500MB of data, but as you might expect, you'll have to sign up for 24 months. Alternatively, you can get a slightly different deal from Orange, but that costs £35 per month.Want something a little different? Go see the man or woman at T-Mobile. The above two deals are for the handset in black, but T-Mobile has an exclusive version of the smartphone in silver. As you might expect, it's the same monthly price as Orange, with the phone offered with 900 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB of data each month over 24 months. If any of those deals appeal, head over to the respective shops and secure one right now.
