We first saw mention of it back in January, but now the BlackBerry Torch 2 has had the hands-on treatment by the BGR site, which describes it as 'really what the original Torch should have been'. Some praise. It's basically a beefed-up version of the same handset, with the unit said to be 'identical' in looks (still mixing a touch-screen with slide-out QWERTY), but now packing an improved 640x480 pixel display, a 1.2GHz processor and the new BlackBerry OS 6.1 operating system. Perfect for an upgrade and tempting if you had doubts about the original smartphone. Not that there were many – we gave it a four-star review back in September of last year.Talking of dates, this is said to be launching in May of this year at the BlackBerry World event, with a US shelf date of July. We're usually behind, so perhaps looks to September for a UK launch – more or less a year after the original landed. The site also got a hands-on with the BlackBerry Bold Touch, without giving much more away than we already know. Look out for that launching at the same event.
