Good news for anyone who happened to order an iPad 2 from Apple on launch day – those tablets are likely to be on their way from Apple to your home.Apple has started sending out confirmation emails to customers, confirming that the second generation tablets are out for delivery, around a week ahead of the estimated date Apple was giving on launch day. With a strong wind behind them, you should get your mitts on yours by Thursday or Friday of this week, well ahead of the estimate delivery date of 26 April. Nice bit of reverse psychology from Apple.Does this mean that there's a sudden glut of iPad 2 stock around? Probably not, but it does mean the second wave of stock is available and as such, might well be available to order with a faster turnaround time from Apple. Stock might also be creeping back onto the shelves of retailers. If you happen to be near an Apple store, you might want to drop in or give them a call if an iPad 2 is still top of your 'wants' list. Chances are that they'll know when stock is coming in.All good news then? Not quite. Apple isn't being quite so hasty with delivering those accessories you might have ordered too, particularly when it comes to the much-hyped Smart Covers. They will be shipped at an undisclosed date, with most being in short supply. Strange really, as John Lewis (just one example), has a glut of the things available online right now. If you need one desperately, head over there.
