Calling all budding filmmakers. Nokia has launched an international short film competition with the winner claiming $10,000 and a screening of their film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The competition is running in conjunction with online video sharing site Vimeo and will see entries whittled down to eight finalists. Each finalist will then be given two Nokia N8 smartphones and a budget of $5,000 to make their film.
The winning director will then not only receive the $10,000 prize money but will also spend a day behind-the-scenes with the founder and producer of the London Film Museum Jonathan Sands, as well as Bob Keen, a special effects expert who has worked on such films as Aliens, Hellraiser and Dog Soldiers.
