Check out our review of the LG Optimus 2X. Despite some reservations about its 'wow factor' (at least, compared to the competition), the phone itself is an impressive dual-core device and certainly a phone to consider if you have an upgrade due. Why are we telling you this? Because the phone just might be landing in the coming days.According to eagle-eyed spotters on the Android forums, the phone has now got prices and at least one date, giving the impression that the phone could be here very soon. Later than the expected January launch, but not too much later. The Carphone Warehouse is offering it for £455 sim-free, although it doesn't have a date as yet. Expansys is more bold, undercutting to £450 and claiming shipping is within the next eight days. If that's correct, we would expect the networks to be offering contracts in the coming week or two as well. Exciting stuff if this is the Android of your dreams. It is an impressive piece of kit too, with Nvidia's Tegra 2 dual-core processor on-board, as well as a 4-inch screen with 480x800-pixel resolution, 8GB of storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and the option of 1080p HD playback when connected to a big-screen TV. There's even Ennio Morricone ringtones. Yes, that Ennio Morricone, he of the Clint Eastwood-led spaghetti westerns. Shame it will ship with Android 2.2, but an upgrade can't be far off if you do buy in the coming week or two.
