Ok, we did say this was landing in March, but it now seems the Samsung Galaxy S II is not quite ready for UK shelves.Originally, retailers Play.com, Xpansys and Clove were doing pre-orders for the Android smartphone, all offering the Galaxy S II for mid to late-March. That's rapidly approaching, but according to TechRadar, those dates have now been pushed back. All three retailers are now talking about a May launch date. Specifically, Play.com is quoting 6th May, Expansys 9th May and Clove simple 'May'. It sounds like all three have been told the same thing - 'a couple of months yet'. Prices still the same though, from around £600 sim-free, depending on your choice of retailer and model. In truth, May sounds like a more realistic date. After all, it was only launched on 14th February and it tends to take time for these things to hit the shelves. Fine tuning and all that. We've had no specific word from the networks as yet either, which is never a good sign.So if you want a super-slim Android 2.3 smartphone with 4.27-inch 800 x 480 Super AMOLED Plus display, an 8-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel video calling camera, dual-core 1GHz Samsung chip and 1GB of RAM, not to mention high-speed 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS connectivity, Wi-Fi Direct to connect to wireless-enabled PCs and printers, plus NFC for those contactless payments, well, you'll just have to sit tight for another eight or nine weeks. It should be worth that wait.
