Back in the middle of February, we confirmed that Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy will be offering up the 3G and Wi-Fi model of the Motorola Xoom tablet, with Currys and PC World stocking the Wi-Fi only model. Well, the last of those four retailers accidentally stuck up a pre-order page for the Android tablet, which means we now have a UK price.Engadget snapped the page before it was hastily removed, so we have all the details available to hand for the Wi-Fi only model. The most important is price, which is £449.99. That's £60 less than the equivalent 32GB Wi-Fi iPad, although we don't know the price of the iPad 2 yet. We suspect it's not going to be any cheaper. Why would it?If Motorola can beat the price of Apple's tablet, that's one step for getting in the game. The other is to match the specification. It might do that too. The 10.1-inch tablet is an impressive piece of kit, launching with Android Honeycomb (3.0) on-board, a widescreen HD display, a five-megapixel camera that can capture HD DVD-quality video, a two-megapixel front facing camera for video calls over Wi-Fi or 3G and HDMI output for showing off your mini epics on the big screen. Flash of course, this is Android after all.Impressive, I'm sure you'll agree. But with that pre-order page disappearing, we still don't know a date. It must be very close though. Before the month is out? Fingers crossed.
