HTC Incredible S ships this weekend

How about this for a turnaround? The HTC Incredible S was unveiled just days ago at the MWC event in Barcelona, an international version of the HTC Incredible that was said to be landing in the second quarter of 2011. Well, not only is it landing before then, you can order one for shipping tomorrow.

You can if you opt to get one online at the Carphone Warehouse anyway. The company is taking orders now at its site, with availability at its stores from Thursday 3rd March. How much? Depends on the contract you sign, with the store offering the handset on O2, Vodafone and sim-free. But as a guide, you can secure the Incredible S for £30 per month over 24 months on Vodafone, which gets you 600 inclusive minutes and unlimited texts.

For that, you also get a phone described as having a 'cutting-edge design' and offering 'a premium mobile experience'. Specifically, that means a contoured body that shows off the 4-inch WVGA Super LCD display and houses some stereo surround sound kit, the latter offering a 'vibrant cinematic experience to the palm of your hand'. So says HTC, anyway.

Finishing things off is a 1GHz processor, 768MB RAM, 1.1GB of internal storage (plus microSD expansion), an 8-megapixel camera with dual flash and HD (720p) video shooting, a front facing camera for video call functionality and easy sharing of videos, photos and music to a TV via DLNA technology. Android version 2.2 is the operating system at launch, but there's likely to be an upgrade incoming to Gingerbread.

If you want one in time to show off at work on Monday, get in now.
