Loved the Desire but think its next-gen successor the Desire HD is just too large?
You're probably in luck, as leaks online suggest that an HTC Desire 2 is in the making. In addition to those images we reported, a page has popped up on the Vodafone Germany website, which means the phone may well be available soon.
According to Engadget, it's packing a Super AMOLED screen where the Desire had only an AMOLED screen - all the better to display clear, bright colours and video, you know - and will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
If the leaked image is to be believed, the hard buttons on the original Desire have been replaced with touch-sensitive ones, and there is also a front-facing camera for video calls.
Given that Mobile World Congress gets underway in exactly one week today, it's very possible that the phone will be officially unveiled then.
