Despite it being announced at CES and going up for pre-order in the US via the T-Mobile network, details on the forthcoming LG G-Slate are still scarce. However, what did seem clear was that the 4G device was not coming to the UK - the 4G part saw to that. However, it now looks like a version of the G-Slate could be hitting the UK.We do know that it's a 10-inch device, running the tablet-friendly Android Honeycomb device and with enhanced interfaces for the likes of Gmail and YouTube to suit the device. Other hardware isn't confirmed, but presumed to be on-board are a dual core processor, 32GB of storage, HDMI and two cameras (front and rear). It looks good, certainly a competitor and now it looks like it could make it to the UK after all.According to Pocket Lint, the company has hinted that the tablet will make it to the UK in some non-4G flavours. Asked whether the G-Slate will be coming to the UK, James Choi, marketing strategy and planning team director of LG Electronics global said: 'That information isn’t available yet. The first announcement was for the Americas. We are planning another announcement pretty soon'.Asked about issues with 4G outside the US, Choi said this wasn't a problem: 'For the iPad you have the Wi-Fi version, the 3G version, different kinds of versions...I’ll put it to you this way, even if the 4G version isn’t in the UK...'So from that, we can assume it is on the LG agenda. It makes a lot of sense. The tablet market is still in its infancy and it would be good for LG to get a substantial presence in it sooner rather than later. We'll keep you posted on developments, with the hope that something could be announced at the MWC event next month.
