if the iPhone's built-in video camera is just a little too cutting edge for you, the 8mm Vintage Camera app might well be to your tastes. To put it simply, it gives a vintage twist to the mini movies you shoot on your phone. According to Retro To Go, the app offers five lenses and five film types for a variety of movie finishes reminscent of everything from the 1920s to the 1970s. Look out for dust and scratches, retro colors, flickering, light leaks and frame jitters (which you can manually control), all combining for genuine old school authenticity. The effects are in 'live view' in the viewfinder, so you know what you are getting with each effect. Once you've completed your movie, you can save it to the camera roll, email it or share to YouTube. In fact, wear some 70s fancy dress and you can probably get away with uploading it to YouTube as some genuine old family footage. It really is that good.If you fancy the app, 8mm Vintage Camera is available for both the iPhone and iPod touch for £1.19 in the app store. See this demo reel for the effects in action.
