It's one of the BBC's biggest franchises, so it makes sense for the BBC to produce some Top Gear-themed games. Indeed, it just has, for both the iPhone and iPad.According to Recombu, two games have just hit the app store, one a more obvious racing game, another that looks like it might work your brain. The first of those is Top Gear: Stunt School, described as a 3D racing game 'with a twist'. In effect, that's the challenge of completing 60 physics-based stunt challenges, with another 20 'sandbox' challenges awaiting if you make it through those first stages. More than enough to see you into the new year. There are nine different cars, but your success will be down to upgrading the cars with jet engines, monster truck tyres, armoured plating and cargo wagons. It works alongside Game Center and there's an extra option to get the Stig to race your customised car, before you see if you can beat his time. £2.39 is the price.Stig, despite not being flavour of the month on the show right now, also features in the second game, Top Gear: Where's Stig? 'Travel the world looking for our nameless, faceless hero – plus a few of his Top Gear friends,' the official description says. 'Maybe he’s hidden himself in the darkest jungles of Botswana. Thinks he’ll blend in nicely at the North Pole. Or is cleverly keeping a very low profile in the Top Gear studio. Wherever he goes, you’ll have fun looking for the elusive, silent, masked hero.' If that sounds more your thing, it's a little cheaper at £1.79. Both games have separate HD versions for iPad too, if that's your choice of device.
