Not just any old Android phone, the LG Star promises to be...well... a star of the show. Why? Well, there are a couple of reasons, based on details so far leaked and picked up on TechRadar. For a start, it packs a punch, thanks to the inclusion of the Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, a dual-core processor that promises a boost in performance as well as some help on the battery life front. Indeed, an Android forum user has got hold of one and done a bench test, showing performance well in excess of the competition, including the Galaxy S and Nexus One. That's a seriously big selling point. But it's not the only one. Android 2.2 is installed, but as the next-generation of OS is just around the corner, it might well launch with Android 2.3 (aka Gingerbread). Want more? Well, how about an HDMI port, 4-inch screen and an eight-megapixel camera with LED flash? All present and correct, no doubt with more features ready to impress us at launch. When is that launch? No one really knows, but speculation is towards the Mobile World Congress in February 2011, possibly even sooner.
