Nokia X7 handset leaks online

It might have been intended just to show off Need For Speed Shift on a Nokia phone, but the phone itself has become the star, this being the first sighting of the Nokia X7.

It promises an interesting, if not groundbreaking handset that runs Symbian^3 and packs four speakers, as well as hosting (we believe) a four-inch capacitive screen, an 8-megapixel camera 450MB of storage, 245MB of RAM, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a slightly quirky design, at least with those angular corners.

It obviously plays games well enough too judging by the screenshots of the handset and Need For Speed, with the handset likely to be pitched as an entertainment device.

The Symbian operating system might be a turn off for some, but we'll reserve judgement until the official launch and the hands-on. We suspect that might yet be before the end of the year if the phone is indeed the finished article.
