Elonex budget eTouch android tablet launches

Yes, it's another budget Android tablet. This time from Toys 'R' Us. But the Elonex eTouch android tablet isn't aimed at kids, although it might make a decent iPad substitute if finances are tight.

According to Pocket Lint, there will be two iPad-like models available, a 7-inch tablet that retails for that budget £89.99 price and a 10-inch model that costs £149.99. More, but still very cheap.

'This is yet another new, exciting and innovative product that we are confident to bring to our sales floor. It is important that Toys ‘R’ Us inspire this young and inspirational market offering the best affordable products on the marketplace', said Mike Coogan, marketing director at Toys ‘R’ Us.

The 10-inch tablet weighs just 695g, packs a 2GB SSD on board, with expansion via a micro SD card slot and a 2GB micro SD card throw in to get you going. It also has the Android 2.1 operating system, an ARM 11 1GHz processor, 2.0 USB, a mini USB port, a 3.5-inch audio port, microphone, stereo speaker with volume adjustment and a power adaptor. If you want one, head down to the toy warehouse now.
