MOBILE CHOICE AWARDS: Best High Street Retailer

WINNER: Orange

Not only does Orange boast 423 high street retail stores, it also continues its association with HMV with presence in 36 of their stores. However, it's not just numbers that won your vote as Best High Street Retailer. Customers are treated to live demos and interactive screens, allowing them to try before they buy. Recognising that time is a precious commodity, as of July this year, Orange introduced the 'Collect in Store' policy that allows consumers to order online before collecting their phone from their nearest Orange store. With over 3,600 retail staff continuously trained in all of Orange's new initiatives such as HD Voice, customers are safe in the knowledge that they receive the best advice possible. Customers have also been treated to exclusive product launches such as the HTC Desire in black and the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in white, while the Recycle and Reward scheme has paid out over £1 million in terms of awards to customers who dispose of their handsets in store. It's little wonder you voted Orange as Best High Street Retailer.

RUNNER UP: Carphone Warehouse

Having connected 12.5 million customers in the last financial year, Carphone Warehouse remains one of the top dogs in terms of High Street retailers and has continued to grow in a difficult economic environment. So much so that Carphone Warehouse has continued to roll out its Wireless World stores with 40 spread out across the UK, while they've also opened four Best Buy stores that sell everything from mobile phones to home appliances to TVs and home cinemas.

With close to 500 retail stores, O2 has an enormous presence on the UK high streets. The last year has seen the operator drive a retail transformation programme that aims to improve the customer experience. This includes increasing the number of O2 Gurus - experts who offer free, impartial advice to customers - to more than 160 in store. Keep your eyes peeled for the Guru Roadshow too, as they visit cities across the UK attempting to solve technical issues for customers on any network.

T-Mobile has placed huge emphasis on providing a great retail experience. By closely monitoring its Customer Feedback, T-Mobile conducts workshops among its staff making sure they have the right people in the right place. Be it suggesting the right prepay handset or best iPhone 4 tariff, T-Mobile's high street staff are well versed in what's on offer.

Across Three's 306 high street stores, staff are diligently trained to assist the growing 6.2million customers the operator currently boasts. With Three's growing portfolio of handsets, staff are trained to suggest the right handset for you, while cost effective tariffs such as the The One Plan which offers 2,000 any network minutes, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, 5,000 texts and 1GB of data, all from just £25 a month maintain a constant stream of people through their high street stores.
