Amazon offers HTC Trophy sim-free

At the start of the week, HTC launched five Windows Phone 7 handsets, one of which was the gamer-friendly HTC Trophy. If you liked the look of it, but don't fancy being tied to a long contract, Amazon hasd a solution.

That solution does come at a price though. £429.99 to be precise, which will secure you a sim-free version of the handset from November 8th. That still works out cheaper than signing a two-year deal with Vodafone at £25 per month, but at least the latter offers calls, texts and data as a bonus.

For either fee, you get a step into the brave new world of Windows Phone 7, along with a 1GHz processor, 576MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, a five-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, 720p video recording, Dolby Mobile and SRS surround sound and an integrated Zune player and Xbox Live.

If you can't wait to get your hands on it, the contract deals are available from late October, a couple of weeks before the sim-free model ships.
