Sadly, we don't have access to a glossy brochure of all the company's forthcoming goodies, but we do have word from HP that it is planning a new generation of smartphones for early 2011.As you might expect, HP is using the WebOS it picked up via the Palm purchase earlier this year. According to Fonehome, HP senior vice president Eric Cador confirmed that multiple WebOS devices are on the way, and should arrive in early 2011, which could well mean a big launch at the CES trade show in Las Vegas. It's timed perfectly for them.'You will see us coming early next year with new phones,' Cador said, without giving details of whether it's a new take on the Palm Pre or an all-new concept using the operating system as its starting point. It could well be either. The Palm Pre and its offshoots were well-received, but didn't exactly set the world alight in terms of sales. Initially it was suggested that HP would be using WebOS purely for tablets, but with smartphones now back on the agenda, it looks like HP still sees a niche in a market saturated by Androids and the iPhone. All will be revealed in a matter of months.
