HTC Desire HD gets UK launch date

T-Mobile has already unveiled its pricing, but it has now been joined by Vodafone, which has also confirmed the shelf date of the HTC Desire HD.

The date is October 14th, or a week tomorrow if you like, with Vodafone now taking pre-orders in advance. The phone will be free if you sign up to a two year deal for £35 per month contracts. That guarantees you up 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data each month if yo go the online route. You get less call allowance and crucially, just 500MB of monthly data if you buy on the high street. You can check out the T-Mobile deal here.

So what does the Desire HD offer? Well, a cutting edge Android phone, that's what, with Android 2.2, a 4.3-inch WVGA touch-screen with multi-touch, a HD-friendly 8-megapixel camera with image effects built-in, a 1Ghz processor with 768MB RAM, 1.5GB of storage, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity plus the new Sense UI and sense.com, the latter for your cloud-based syncing.

If all that appeals and you want to go the Android way, head to Vodafone or T-Mobile now.
