BlackBerry Torch 9800 hits the shelves

It's been incoming for weeks. In fact, it was originally talked about for a September release for the UK. But now the BlackBerry Torch 9800 has been given a confirmed launch, October 1st, which happens to be tomorrow.

That's according to Electric Pig, which claims to have had a call from Phones 4U confirming stock will arrive on that day, with contract deals on offer from both Vodafone and Orange. £35 a month gets you a free handset if you sign for 24 months with Orange, £37.50 on Vodafone. Alternatively, you can secure it over 18 months for a £40 monthly charge on both networks.

For that, you get the chance to use the all-new BlackBerry 6 operating system, along with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, GPS with Blackberry Maps, Wi-Fi and the all that email and messenger goodness that built up the BlackBerry's reputation.
