Microsoft has sent out invites to a press event - which ties in with its initial estimated launch date of October 2010 for Windows Phone 7 in the Uk.That was the month quoted some time back by Brandon Watson, Microsoft's director of developer experience for Windows Phone and with invites for a Microsoft press event for October 11th landing on doormats, we think all the pieces are falling into place nicely. But that's not the end of the story. If rumours are correct, Windows Phone 7 handsets could be in stores from October 21st, just 10 days later. That's according to the Neowin site. It claims to have 'sources familiar with the software giants' confirming that the UK launch is now set in stone for that date, with Microsoft planning to partner with 'a big London based radio station in the UK' to promote Windows Phone 7. Orange is also expected to be a close launch partner for Windows Phone 7 on that day too.A huge advertising campaign will follow, so there will be no hiding from it. Will it be enough to tempt us back to Microsoft? Who knows, but we're already excited by the prospect of all that new kit on offer. In around two weeks, we should be hands-on with most of it, so keep an eye out for that.
