In case you've been in isolation for the past few months, RIM has introduced the next generation of BlackBerry, the BlackBerry Torch 9800. Now Vodafone has announced it is stocking the smartphone and when that phone will be in stock. The answer to the second question is September 27th, but you can get your pre-order in now, although you might want to think carefully as the latest BlackBerry doesn't come cheap. If you want the handset for free, you'll have to commit to a £40 monthly fee for 24 months. That gets you 1,200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. If you want it over 18 months, you'll be paying £55 per month, with an increased call allowance. That does include the BlackBerry email service, you'll be pleased to know.So is it worth the outlay? Well, our review was certainly favourable, although we had reservations about the design and the weight of the device. Saying that, the camera is a bit step up for a BlackBerry and the new BlackBerry OS 6 operating system is certainly more 'today' than the previous generation.Probably best to get hands-on to see if it suits your needs. You can do that from the September 27th launch date at your local Vodafone supplier.
