Orange rolls out HTC Desire upgrade

Twitter seems to be the place to announce things right now - it's where Orange has chosen to announce the arrival of Android 2.2 for the HTC Desire.

Following swiftly on the heels of T-Mobile's update (no surprise, seeing as the companies are currently hooked up), T-Mobile's PR manager Conor Maples announced on Twitter that 'Android Froyo 2.2 has started to roll out for HTC Desire Orange UK customers'.

'Started' obviously means it is on its way, so if you haven't been offered it yet, sit tight, it's likely to heading your way in a matter of hours. If in doubt, go to your settings and check the 'system software updates' menu when you've got a decent connection - the update is the wrong side of 90MB.

Now all you need is the new Sense UI to be ported to your handset and you'll have something apporaching a new phone. That is a possibility, but as yet, there's no confirmation from either HTC or the networks that it will definitely happen.
