Based on the fact that Amazon is selling a model sim-free from October 11th, I think we can safely assume that we now know the shelf date for the HTC Desire Z in the UK.We saw the HTC Desire Z first hand last week at the HTC event in London, offering an interesting design with the QWERTY keyboard flicking out on what's described as a 'Z-hinge'. The casing is aluminium, while the screen is a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 Super LCD touchscreen, with a non-touch area that operates as an optical trackpad.Under the bonnet, you'll find Android 2.2, the new HTC Sense interface and an 800MHz processor, plus a 5-megapixel camera with HD video capability to capture those special moments.Amazon wants £429.99 for all of that, with the expected battery, charger, data cable and memory card thrown in as part of the deal. Bit pricey? Well, you can always go the contract route. Most of the networks will be stocking it, with the handset likely to ship on that same October 11th date.
