Well, the rumours turned out to be right. Months after our hands-on, the Nokia N8 will finally be available to buy this month, sim-free.Nokia gets first go at it on its own site, selling the device sim-free for £429. A week later, on October 1st to be specific, the device will then roll out to the stores and networks. That means Carphone Warehouse, O2, Orange, Phones4u, T-Mobile, Tesco Phone, Three Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone, where it is expected to go for £35 per month.For your money, you'll get a handset with 3.5-inch, 640 x 360, capacitive touchscreen, packing an impressive 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, auto-focus and Xenon flash, as well the ability to shoot in 720p HD. You'll also be able to hook it up to your TV to see those masterpieces too, with editing available on the handset.Finishing things off is 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, 16GB of storage, a microSD expansion slot and Nokia's new new Symbian^3 operating system. If all that appeals, get saving those pennies now - you have two or three weeks, depending on your contract preference.
