APP WATCH: Twitter for iPad

Twitter has launched its official app for Apple's iPad, offering a little more than just a bigger version of the iPhone app.

According to TechRadar, the temptation to simply 'stretch' a smartphone app has been resisted, in its place comes an all-new interface which shows links to webpages, pictures and videos from tweets almost immediately in a new pane on the screen. In other words, it's all there, without the need to wander off Timeline.

That multitouch interface is taken advantage of too. For example, with a pinch outwards, you can expand the details of a particular user, a swipe down revealing a whole conversation.

According to the official Twitter blog: 'Today we are bringing Tweets to a device that really lets content shine - the iPad. Twitter for iPad takes advantage of the iPad's fluid touch interface, letting you move lots of information around smoothly and quickly - without needing to open and close windows or click buttons'.

If that appeals to you and you have an iPad, it's available right now at Apple's app store.
