Archos launches five Android tablets

Archos has just joined the rush to release an Android tablet, launching not just a single device, but five Android devices on the same day. Something for everyone - as long as want Android as your operating system.

According to Cnet, all the devices will run Android 2.2 at launch, have 3D graphics acceleration and in one case, sell for £99. That 'one' is the 4GB Archos 28, also available for £109 for an 8GB model. For that outlay, you get a modest 2.8-inch touch screen, a 320 x 240 pixel display, multimedia support and an 800MHz Cortex A8 processor.

Stepping up from that is the Archos 32, complete with 3.2-inch touch screen, 8GB of storage and a HD-friendly camera for £129. Next up is the Archos 43 with its 4.3-inch touch screen, 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and 16GB of storage for £199. All of those models are on sale this month.

But that's not all, there's also the 7-inch Archos 70 with front-facing camera and has a mini-HDMI port for outputting video to a TV. £229 gets you the 8GB version, £269 is the price for the 250GB model. Finally, the big boy is the Archos 101, sized at 10.1 inches and with capacitive touch screen. Price to be confirmed,

No news on the availability dates for the latter two models as yet either. More when we get it.
