Samsung's Bada platform was introduced courtesy of the Wave S8500, with the generally positive reception seemingly spurring on Samsung for even more handsets as we see out 2010. That now includes the newly-announced Wave 723.After various leaks over the weekend, Samsung has just officially announced the handset, priced more affordably than the original Bada phone, with features scaled down slightly as a result. But on the plus side, a smaller price tag should mean more of a take-up of the fledgling platform. According to the Wall Street Journal, that means a 3.2-inch, WQVGA, TFT touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity, a microSD slot and a rather nifty leather cover for the screen. It launches in Germany in September, hitting the UK in the weeks following that, certainly ahead of Christmas. If you happen to be shopping in Germany in September, 240 Euros is the sim-free price.
