The BlackBerry Pearl is the Marmite of the BlackBerry range, loved and not-so-loved in equal measures, depending if size or a QWERTY keyboard is important to you. But the BlackBerry Pearl 3G is certainly the pick of the range, gaining a four-star rating in our recent review. If that tempts you in, we have some more good news - it's now available on pay-as-you-go.Acocrding to T-Mobile, the launch is part of a wider initiative to 'make high end handsets more affordable to the wider market', with the Pearl 3G offered for £249.99 upfront from today at your local T-Mobile shop - the first network to offer it outside of a contract.Of course, you'll have data costs to contend with, but not as many as you might think if you sign up before the end of August. The network is throwing in six months of free email and internet if you top up £20 of airtime. Sounds like a winner to us.The compact BlackBerry comes in a glossy black finish, offering both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel camera, preloaded Facebook and Twitter widgets, access to a wide range of free and paid-for apps through Blackberry App World, along with Media Sync, so you can sync your iTunes or Windows Media Player music library with the handset.According to Nicola Shenton, Head of Device Marketing at T-Mobile: 'BlackBerrys are no longer just for business use. More and more of our customers are asking for them, and by offering the handsets on a pay-as-you-go tariff, we’re making it more accessible.'
