It's been hyped more than any other BlackBerry interface and should form the backbone of the next generation smartphones and the forthcoming BlackBerry tablet. Which makes this official preview of BlackBerry OS 6 very interesting.Andrew Bocking, VP of Handheld Software Product Management, is obviously very excited about it: 'In the almost ten years I’ve worked at Research In Motion (RIM), I’ve never been as excited about a BlackBerry software launch as I am for BlackBerry 6, which is on track for release this summer. I’m absolutely in love with the BlackBerry 6 experience and I expect other longtime users like me will feel the same. I also think the wide range of changes and added features in BlackBerry 6 will attract a lot of new users to the BlackBerry platform.'Those new features include a a new WebKit-powered browser, a new Social Feeds app that take in updates from different networks, a universal search option, a text magnifier, context-sensitive pop-up menus, a decent RSS reader (finally), enhanced music controls and a much improved BlackBerry Messenger experience.Rather than us talking about it all, you should simply check out the mini movie yourself. No news on when this will actually land, we expect RIM to drip out more information over summer with perhaps the big launch towards the end of 2010.
